Uroboros was initially designed to allow all DeFi users to explore the unique and complex environment of decentralized finances by giving them a proverbial excavator instead of a shovel in their search for gems amidst the piles of manure the DeFi space is known for.

Uroboros wants Decentralized Finance to become just Finance, a real parallel financial ecosystem that does not compete with its conventional counterpart, instead becoming part of it. Progress cannot go hand in hand with archaic practices. The invention of the flash drive marked the end of the floppy disk and CD eras. The same pace should be maintained in the financial industry. If blockchain makes transactions instantly and cheaper, why bother resorting to wire transfers that take days and charge exuberant commissions?

Uroboros stands for complete freedom and the absence of stigma in finance. One’s hard-earned money has to belong to them in a non-custodial fashion, not remain stored in a custodial vault owned by some overly-centralized cash-cow bank.

John D. Rockefeller said: “Get rich by taking something common and making it uncommon.” Decentralized Finance is the embodiment of this phrase, putting a completely new spin on the essence of wealth and Rockefeller’s own quote: “The only question with wealth is, what do you do with it?”

Decentralized Finance answers that question by letting individuals control their wealth for the purpose of increasing it without the interference of intermediaries who take their cuts from thousands of users of online space and get rich. If wealth is to bring benefit to anyone, it has to enrich its owner. The DeFi space provides all the necessary tools for making that possible, and Uroboros is intent on making them available to everyone in a free, transparent, and fully decentralized manner.
